2. The Challenge

The client in Malaysia was using a traditional centrifuge system, but faced several operational hurdles:

• High Oil Content: The food processing sludge contained high levels of fats, oils, and grease (FOG), making it difficult for many machines to separate water efficiently.

• Noise and Vibration: The old centrifuge was extremely noisy and required heavy foundation reinforcement.

• Maintenance Cost: Frequent breakdowns and expensive spare parts from European brands were hurting the factory’s ROI.

• Environmental Compliance: The moisture content of the sludge cake was too high, leading to high disposal fees from local waste contractors.

3. KOPAY’s Solution

KOPAY engineered a customized Sludge Dewatering Solution specifically for the Malaysian food industry:
